Away from campus, in their off hours, classified staff can often be found helping the greater community. John Newton, an HVAC/Refrig. Specialist Advanced, who is also a member of the Classified Staff Executive Committee, took part in a charity motorcycle ride that raised thousands of dollars for the Carbone Cancer Center. The ride was a project of Wisconsin Dual Sport Riders, whose goal is to build community goodwill through motorcycling.
